IBDP CAS Handbook

The answer to all your questions, whether student or staff, should be under a heading below.

You will also find all the forms that you might be asked to complete and submit.

Note there is a heading that only staff can see with a few things just for them

How CAS, as part of the IB Core, fits into the IB Programme and why it is so important

What students are required to do in order to complete CAS and ultimately the IB Programme.

The names given to the different roles of those involved in CAS and some other terms that can be confusing

CAS Experiences what the students are involved in each week as part of their programme

What do we mean and what counts for Creativity?

What do we mean and what counts for Activity?

What do we mean and what counts for Service?

As with everything IB students need to prove that it has taken place. This is especially important for CAS.

Thinking about the Experiences undertaking is as important, if not more important than carrying them out.

Students must submit a CAS Profile showing and celebrating all the have done. At IST we use Managebac for this.

All events run by students in and out of school must be authorised BEFORE they are advertised any action takes place.

As well as weekly Experiences students plan and carry out at least one much larger CAS Project showing collaboration and perseverance.
