In this topic, you will be evaluating other people's documents and  presentations, making suggestions for how they could be improved and then using word processing, desktop publishing (DTP), presentation and audio/video software to communicate in a way that is appropriate for your context, audience and purpose, while keeping good consistency of design.

How do we get to the information we want on the internet and how much can we trust it? In this topic, you will think critically about searching for, selecting, improving and using information.

How to collect data, set up a database, search and sort the data and how databases are used in the real world. You will design a questionnaire and the data structure that would be needed to store the data, consider errors that can occur when data is being entered, think about searching and sortinga database, calculating averages, predicting trends, reaching conclusions from the data, presenting your conclusions and reviewing them to ensure they are plausible.

How to use spreadsheets to do calculations, make graphs and charts and to predict the future. You will work with an existing mathematical model, create and format your own and then use them to make and test hypotheses. How computers are used to simulate other real-life situations.

Computers control many systems around you in your daily life (appliances in your home, ship navigation, the metro in Toulouse, car motors, the flight of an Airbus, traffic lights, etc.). How do control systems work and how much should we trust them? In this topic, you will learn how to program a control system, what a flowchart is and how to build one, about loops, subroutines and variables, and then how to test and improve your program.

How computers are used in the modern world. Are they more common than we think? Do we rely on them too much? In this topic, you look at the way that ICT is used at school, home, work, and elsewhere.

ICT projects to stretch your computer skills further. The tasks are themed by subject, but they all use ICT. You can send in your work if you want to, using the upload link at the top and good work will receive a commendation.
