The French department and French students at IST invite you warmly to come to our school on Wednesday 6 April to celebrate la Francophonie: Festival and celebrations of the French speaking world. This year, the theme of the day is the French speaking world throughout centuries with a focus on North America, the Renaissance, post WWII France, Senegal and Maghreb.
_ Year 7: French speaking northern America in the 18th century (Lousiana, Acadia, Quebec)
_ Year 8: The French Renaissance (1477-1610)
_ Year 9: Les 30 Glorieuses in France (1945-1975), 30 years of economic boom and key social changes
_ Year 10: Colonisation & decolonisation of Maghreb (Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria)
_ Year 12: Senegal after independence(1960-1980)
On that day for an hour, all years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 students will be displaying their work in the Secondary school. Please come to see and appreciate their creative displays, their PowerPoints, listen to traditional music, practise your French skills with students or just try a quiz on displays while tasting the typical food prepared!
